Nickel and Dimed

I believe barbra ehrenreich's troubles are brought on by herself. even though shes conducting an experiment, i feel as tho it is readily known that one person cannot survive on a single job that is minimum wage. The income she gets does not allow her to support herself, and the first two jobs become way too physicall demanding for her. I feel as though it is a good enough experiment, but its already known that surviving on minimum wage is near impossible

Parent Work

My dad is an engineer, he looks at problems very level-headily. Right now he is the main civil engineer for my town and the surrounding towns. I believe a career definitely becomes a part of a persons identity.

TV series

The Tv series that i chose is The Office. Its a very funny show. A lot of the humor centers around awkwardness of the casts interactions. I think it is very well written and ill keep watching it, because i find it enjoyable.

Use of Time

During the first two weeks of this semester, i feel as tho i have used free time to my advantage. I have enough time to get all of my work done, and plenty of free time left over to use how i see fit. The thing i contribute the overall success of my time management, is making lists. This is the first time I have ever tried to use a list to my advantage, and it seems as tho its working out well for me.

Learning Style

I'm a visual learner, so I need to picture something to remember and understand it. I already thought i was a visual learner, but this test just put what I thought into something that I know. The only thing that I learned from this test is that I should sit at the front at the class so i can comprehend things better and have less distractions.

College

One of the biggest differences here at Stockton is the ability not to go to class. In highschool it was imparative that you went to every class. But in college you can choose how you want your day to go. Skipping a class may not be the best idea, but sometimes its neccessary to skip. One of the simmilarities that i would like to be a difference is the cell phone policy. Id expect teachers to have more leway with having a cell phone in class. I mean i'm paying for the class so i feel like its my decision whether or not to text thoughout the class..

How do i read?

I'm not too sure how to answer this question. When i read, however, i think about what the article or book is trying to convey. But usually i am too into my thought and i have to reread because i miss the point of the article entirely.

Expectations

I only have a few expectations for myself here at Stockton. This is my second year here and i expect myself to get a gpa of 3.3 or higher. From past experiences it was way too easy to skip class and not do my work. So for this year i plan to work harder, and in turn do better in my classes. Other then that i do not have many other expectations for my self.
